Yet another Memorial Weekend is upon us...
-
We live life upside down and inside out.
We piss up a cliff into the wind.
March in place in quick-sand.
We poison ourselves, abuse ourselves, then we blame our pain on someone else.
We want to appease the authorities instead of objecting to and rejecting authority.
The ladies only remark to the flooding of the Mississippi River is about her intense fear of all the misplaced snakes and alligators that she might find in her basement

Hi Mickey, Joe, and all…
When fascism came, it was not at the point of a gun, it was not brought by the government troops, it was not even imposed by the Corporate CEO or the Hedge Fund manager. Fascism quietly came in the guise of a misinformed teacher, a celebrity celebrating assassination, and a bespectacled librarian banning books.
Yesterday a columnist broke through the censorship at the newspaper and somehow published his great review of BANNED IN VERMONT. Ironically, on the same day, the local PUBLIC library banned the book. Previously I had donated copies to them so that the book would be available at no cost to anyone.

Nice review RMJ....
Also nice to find that there is somebody else out there who believes that politicians should be chosen by lottery, rather than it being a career choice - I have long thought it should be equivalent to jury duty

Thanks Subgenius… That is just my attempt to chip away at some of the in-the-box thinking but when you give it a second thought there are some advantages--- it might be the only way to have a normal person like us in power as opposed to the elite. The dem/repubs are in total control. Nothing will change until we have an opposition force.
Did you see the blog comments on the article? Can you believe that some people are STILL mad, years later, because some of us opposed the killing? How can anyone be mad about a transient delay in traffic, while at the same time bombs were falling on civilians??? I agree with Alden Graves - that IS ‘demented’ thinking.Posted by RMJ from Ward Churchill 4 Prez Hdqts on 05/27 at 04:49 PM -
Congrats on the review, RMJ...and for getting banned. Obviously, you’re on the right track.

Thanks Mickey.....I have to smile at the fact that the title of the book is exceeding all expectations.

RMj, I’m glad you got a good review.
This weekend is emotionally charged in Brunswick, Maine for very wrong reasons. Memorial day..., I could scream when I read or hear the words, ‘ultimate sacrifice.’ Another feature this week, the Brunswick naval air station is closing and will have a celebratory, tear jerking good-bye ceremony.
Hundreds of people will cry for reasons they are unaware of as the ‘song’ is sung and all those sad good byes, with royalty of admirals appear, pissing tax-payer dollars down the chute so their god-damned pubescent egos can be appeased. This is a military week, here in Brunswick, beyond the usual and it’s sick!
How the hell can americans celebrate death and social decay while honoring the elites who help bring about hatred and death while ignoring the trail of death right in their backyards?
As far as elections go..., I think we need to think beyond elections and being represented by someone else. If I were blind, I would like to feel very, very good about, very connected to the person helping me. He/she and I will start our new society.

Hi Joe, Mickey, Subgenius, and all…
Yep...looks like most everyone is rallying around the flag this week-end. We need a week-end to rally around the victims of USA foreign policy.
Joe...how are the ticks over your way? They are worse here than ever before. So far, I got 3 bites in one week. That is more than I have gotten in my entire life. What’s happening with the environment??? Seems like the little creatures are really fighting back this year. Lyme, Rocky Mtn Spotted Fever etc might be on the rise this year.
Posted by RMJ from Ward Churchill 4 Prez Hdqts on 05/28 at 04:38 PM -
RMJ Ticks appeared very early this year and I have had a number of them. I found most before they started drawing blood. We’ve had deer ticks and also the slightly larger ticks. I had one tick, quite early in the year, attach to some large artery or whatever behind my knee. It became quite painful and took some time to heal. Last evening while eating, a deer tick appeared walking on my forearm.
Then the other side of this, in town, they spray pesticides recklessly.
Posted by Joe Of Maine from The Window on 05/29 at 05:04 AM -
Joe… How did you remove them and what about the illnesses that they can cause??? I have used tweezers to remove them - amazing how strong those tiny bugs are and the powerful hold they have. My doc said that there is now a new protocol and antibiotics should be taken??? I am not a fan of most meds, but this might be a problem this year. I know people who have gotten Lyme. I have never used any chemicals in my yard, and won’t now. I wonder if there is a connection between the decreasing bat population due to white nose disease and the increase in ticks? I guess this is an issue city folks don’t have???
Meantime this week-end, rally around the flag post (the peace flag post that is).

Today marks the one-year anniversary of Bradley Manning’s imprisonment…
imprisonment without any Trial.
And what happened to Lynne Stewart...and all of those at Gitmo… and all of those being held in the secret CIA prison system around the world. The list of political prisoners being held by the US is endless.
Meanwhile the citizens celebrate ‘freedom’ around the flag pole.Posted by RMJ from Ward Churchill 4 Prez Hdqts on 05/29 at 09:33 AM -
And these citizens are so damn attached to their fraudulent freedom (sic). My own uncle just disowned me because of what I wrote in the main post about “heroes.”

RMJ...If you can remove the entire tick with it’s attached sucking parts, whatever it’s called, that is perfect. I usually just grab the tick and pull, hopefully everything comes with the body?
I then usually put someone on the spot of the bite, 91% alcohol, tea tree oil, etc. I don’t worry about something more. I guess doctors would tell you to have an eye examine after simply seeing a tick. There are supposedly special tweezers for removing ticks. I don’t know if it works correctly or if just another marketing gimmick. Ticks are terrorists, you know.
It’s easy to feel everything is out of balance. I know someone who is having trouble with Bees, their immune system breaking down. With all of the chemicals and general insanity, many species are suffering and I guess more will.
Mickey..., I was trying to think of something to say to your uncle. How about, ‘uncle, I don’t accept guilt either.’
Posted by Joe of Maine from The Window on 05/29 at 11:02 AM -
Removing ticks - grasp as close to the skin as possible with tweezers and pull straight out with even gentle continuous force. Use tweezers rather than fingers and attempt to grasp the tick where it touches the skin - this minimizes the
chance of pumping the fluid contents into your blood stream and thus minimizes the chance of Lyme disease…If you do manage to contract Lyme disease it really sucks...and the western MD will be at a loss for a suitable treatment...but ingesting colloidal silver works (I have a friend in Maine who has contracted, and successfully treated himself for Lyme’s 3 times using this technique). However be aware that ingesting colloidal silver can lead to argyria (grey/blue skin coloration) and/or argyrosis (accumulation and discoloration of the eye). But let’s face it (ha ha) it’s better than chronic Lyme’s… and it is a result of higher doses (over time - silver bio-accumulates...) so take SMALL doses if you want to try this and don’t want to join the Blue Man Group.
Posted by subgenius from hell-A on 05/29 at 02:41 PM -
Careful for the ticks! Lyme is one of the more awful afflictions out there...but ticks don’t have Sarah Palin, either.
Nice to see a full post...lively on the most deadening ‘holiday.’ And MZ, your uncle is welcome to disown me as well. When he’s ready to rejoin the human race, he can drop us a line.

I’m celebrating freedom by viewing the ELF documentary “If A Tree Falls.” Capsule review later. (catcha sez ‘attack’) http://www.ifatreefallsfilm.com

Thanks, Zen. I plan to write longer posts here again whenever I can. Next up is a photo post from my trip to Coney Island but after that, I’d like to go “full,” as you put it.

Um, I meant the full page of responses and discussion. Whatever you post is always welcome...as if I even get close to that kind of productivity!

I didn’t take offense, Zen. I’ve truly been aiming to create longer posts and I was glad you noticed.

Hi Mickey, Zen, Joe, Sub, and all pro-war Uncles including Uncle Sam (who originated up here in Troy,NY)...
These days, in the U$A, being for peace is much like living in Shirley Jackson’s “The Lottery”.
Ever since I saw Mick’s reference to being disrespected I have been thinking about that. Being pro-peace is very unpopular in this country. “The Lottery” was written very near where I live. Some think of it as fiction, but then there are many here who know that there is a lot of true even now, years later, in “The Lottery”. Expendables seem to have been chosen to be the ones who must have their beliefs eliminated.
It would be so much better for everyone, if those who disagree would engage in debate. They never do. Shunning silence and ostracization are the tools of those who are pro-war. We are one step away from book burning.Posted by RMJ from Ward Churchill 4 Prez Hdqts on 05/30 at 10:29 AM -

RMJ...the savages..., the wealthy send people to the slaughterhouse, so only the rich benefit, most people call this the ultimate sacrifice.
The wealthy are screwing the very people who are defending the actions of rich authorities. Authorities hate anyone who disagrees with them. There is sickness, predatory behavior everywhere, no healthcare, no dental care, only lies and we’re supposed to support this insanity? It’s crazy for people to defend such barbaric behavior, here at home or anywhere by war. People are fucking NUTS and clueless to this!
And it doesn’t matter who because I have met activists who cannot see relations, cause and effect. I can’t imagine any magical words that would have a therapeutic effect on anyone, enabling any kind of insight into anything. And there’s too many people caught up in this barbaric frenzy.
And then there is the need to be needed group who love the plaudits of any authority of any
spotlight. I envision millions of pin balls bouncing off of bumpers, with no directions, no intentions, no free will, just people bouncing around, lost, unthinking..., trying to get there’s. Speaking of ticks and parasites.Oh, fiddlesticks, it’s depressing.

I opine that to get the personal loans from creditors you must have a great motivation. Nevertheless, one time I have got a secured loan, just because I wanted to buy a car.
