Easter...blah, blah, blah

Posted by Mickey Z on 04/23 at 05:54 AM
  1. Is Easter the only “anniversary” that changes date? Even for Religion that’s crazy.

  2. You know something’s really crazy when it’s crazy even for religion.

  3. Yes...I’ve been reading some of the latest details about marching in place in quick sand, some of the latest extortion strategies by utility companies, the latest salivations from Big Bad John McCain.  Jesus H. Christ, things are worst than pathetic!

Talked to a WWII veteran this morning. He said he’s tired of the u.s. protecting other countries. Then he talked about his recent surgery. By now I was contemplating running in front of a truck.

  4. Hi Rick, Mickey, Joe, and all…

Rick...Yep, ‘The first Sunday, after the first full moon, of the vernal equinix...’ Can’t help it. I think there is something poetic about that…

Joe… I agree and that is one of my pet peeves - all of those who believe that we bomb people in other countries to ‘protect’ them. I’d join you in front of the truck but I already did that.

Sadly, I am coming to the conclusion that maybe there is someone even more dangerous than O and his name begins with ‘T’.  He says that since we have been bombing ‘over there’ and killing their people, that entitles the U$A to their oil and we should just go and take it. He’s leading in some of the polls.

  5. Yesterday, my friend Elliott, was one of 37 arrested outside of Syracuse. They were protesting the drones.

  6. RMJ 4, Yeah, some of the logic I’ve read recently, spoken by politicians, judges, district attorney’s. These degenerates are more than ever revealing how god damn stupid they really are. Maine is really getting it from the state D.A., the governor, the electric company, tomorrow it will be the churches opportunity to cash in on everyone’s vulnerability and those who are easily amused and frightened.

The only worthwhile event of the day is just watching 9 wild turkey’s run through the yard.

  7. Hi, everyone. It’s 60 and sunny in Seattle - breathtaking and long overdue

Good call, Rick. Easter is known as a ‘movable feast,’ what the rest of us call a ‘picnic.’ When’s the last time someone had to die, get resurrected [sic], and cause wars and strife, just to have a pleasant afternoon in the countryside? “Did you bring a corkscrew for the wine?” “I thought you said ‘thumbscrew.’”

Speaking of chocolate bunnies and schizo-picnics, some guy has a review of the new Bill Hicks documentary: http://tinyurl.com/3qsg9h7

That Easter Bunny video needs a re-shoot, maybe work in the Fatherland Security Bureau. Isn’t Easter Jebus’ birthday, too? (Re-birthday?)

  8. Hello again, everyone...from rainy, damp NYC.

Congrats, Zen. Sorry I missed your call. My landline is down so calls are forwarded to my cell and I can’t always answer when at work.

  9. Joe #6 Wild Turkey? I didn’t know there was such a thing any more.

I think it’s funny that Easter is pinned to moon activity...surely that screams “We based our religion on sun and moon worship”.

  10. Rick 9 From what I understand, Wild Turkey’s were ‘introduced’, can you imagine using the word introduced, they were kidnapped and brought to Maine so hunters could have something else to kill.

The Turkey’s apparently have survived and multiplied very well. The hunters, well, they hold the wrong end of the gun away from themselves. Anyway, I enjoy seeing the Turkey’s and their activity.

Hunters/politics, everything is so damn nuts!

  11. Wild turkeys are beautiful and a lot of fun to watch. In Vermont it is open season on them for youthful hunters. We teach ‘em to kill at a young age up here. No wonder they are so eager to enlist as soon as they are old enough. Can’t blame the kids.  Gotta blame the adults.

  12. RMJ 11, I think Obama’s bride is campaigning to support the troops or to instill guilt into those who are not and perhaps encourage people through guilt to enlist or to slowly introduce, the draft? I’m not sure which of the above will occur. I smell something rotten and it’s not Turkey dung. Maybe Tel Aviv will influence return of draft in the u.s.?

  13. Joe #10, “introduced” sounds like the nice way of putting it.
Maybe we could use the same term for explaining British History in a nice way. We “introduced” people to pick cotton. It sounds more like a “I say there young sonny Jim, I’d like to introduce you to a whole new way of life” very cordial.

  14. Rick 13, Yes, we will ask permission before we slaughter and rape. Permission is always granted.

Today’s Maine news, introduce new child labor laws for the benefit of employers, NOT children. Allow the return of ugly billboards on highways to promote small businesses, DeCoster egg farms want laws changed for the advantage of business, not allowing overtime pay.

Kick a dead horse. If the carcass moves just slightly, call it progress.

  15. Thanks for making me laugh, Mickey - and for another beautiful photo.

And Easter Tuesday greetings to Rick, Joe of Maine, Zen Prole and Rosemarie from a sunny (68F) Daylesford.

    Take care, all of you!
