America is still temporary

    Great article. Temporary US - time for a change. Amazing to see the Islamophobic hearings going on right now. I am old enough to remember the McCarthy hearings (not quite old enough to remember the Salem Witch trials).  Some things never change.

    I am happy to announce the publishing of my book (don’t laugh, joe). Actually I worked hard to include a tiny bit of humor. It is available from the Northshire Book Store and also Amazon. There are some quotes from Mickey and other distinguished and gifted people of conscience.

  4. Thanks, Mickey. They are having ‘issues’ with the quality of printing, especially of the photos, but I did not want to hold things up any longer.  Someday we will have to compare stories about the little known facts of the publishing industry.  For me, the writing was the easiest part (even on a 10 year old PC with slow dial-up).   5. Well, my next book is a novel published the traditional way. However, right now, I’m working on a book called Personal Trainer Diaries that I plan to self-publish and sell only as an e-book. According to those in the know, this means a larger cut for the writer with practically no middle man.

  6. Great choice for a rerun, MZ. Today I’m consumed in exactly those thoughts; it looks like a wrap for one of the more violent empires the world has ever seen. How it shakes out here won’t be pretty.

    Nice to see Wisconsinites getting active, but it’s a little on the late side. My posts asking why it took a calamity to prompt union action haven’t been welcome, but are great fun to write.

    In the face of international and domestic outbreaks of resistance, Obama’s been rather quiet, no? The hope and change monster is coming to eat him alive, methinks.

    Mickey...I did not plan on publishing mine as an E-book, but have been hearing that some only read Es and other readers like the old paper type.  When you have time, please e-mail me any advice and info about converting to an E book. No rush. I know you are busy and I am on flood watch right now.

  8. RMJ, 1 I’m happy for you. Why would I laugh.

    As you know, my book, ‘Something for Everyone’ is still a piece in progress. To bring you up to date, I intend for it to be 100 blank pages with a 3 paragraph preface with no index or table of contents.

    Well, I’m almost finished with the 3 paragraph preface, this has taken me almost 4 years, now I’m torn about the color I want for the cover. I think either black or charcoal gray would be nice.

    I might dedicate the book to anyone who has been kicked in the crotch while the attacker never asked, ‘may I’.

  10. RMJ 8, I don’t know. On the downside, if people are looking for self-help books and read my title, then see blank pages only, because they won’t relate to the preface, they might be disappointed, demand their money back, protest the book store, bookstore owner slits his wrists, I tell ya, it might become a hell of a mess.

  13. RMJ 11, I like that idea. Spending over 4 years to write 3 short paragraphs has been grueling.

    In fact, I might just put 6x8 tablets in a brown paper bag and sell them. Get a free pencil with every purchase. I would let them know I’m available for speaking engagements. Can you imagine 60 people showing up to listen and we all sit in silence for 1 hour. I think they will get their money’s worth and probably enjoy giving their brain a rest. They might ask for an encore.

    And best wishes from a sunny Daylesford also go to Rosemarie (I’ll get a copy of your book during my upcoming visit to New York between 22 and 28 March), Zen Prole and Joe of Maine. 

    So maybe we could meet some time between 23 and 28 March, either in Queens or Manhattan, Mickey?  However, if you are too busy, that’s fine, too - you have to send me your latest book in that case.
