Occupy Montana: Howling in the name of wolves

Posted by Mickey Z on 10/04 at 05:04 PM
  1. Hi Mickey...well said. America knows one thing and one thing only...killing..., physically, psychologically, emotionally, kill with guns, with words, even what passes on the mass airwaves as american music, in my opinion is aural poison.

Recently their have been Bear stories that will reinforce hunters, who feed the economy by buying guns, ammo, clothing, their hunting trip expenses, their new SUV safari fantasy mobile, the taxidermist, the meat processors and all the drinks bought during bragging sessions at the local clubs and pissing rooms. Killing for profits and pleasure and proud to be a barbarian with red white and blue underwear. And it all sickens me.

  2. Kunstler on a roll, re. OWS...

hell-A now has an occupation too...I suspect it will still be going when I get some time free in about 2 weeks.

And I fully agree with Joe @ #1.

  3. Today the OWS Seattle contingent was ousted from Westlake “Park” (a small concrete plaza that draws most all of the protest activity in Seattle). The left-ish mayor, already floundering, did not get off his butt and visit the protesters. Didn’t send an underling, either. It’s curtains for him next election.

  4. Perhaps the ‘problem’ might better be solved if the wolfs’ prey is also given consideration. Healthy habitat of adequate acreage for both predator and prey seems to have a balancing and healing effect on the whole ecosystem. Flora and fauna both benefit as do rivers and streams.
    Captcha sez Family as in
    we are all related.
    Thanks mickey and great photos.

  5. Flora and Fauna...where are they hiding. Send out the drones, we’ll git-em !

I said this before, in Maine and possibly other states, ‘guides’ are legally allowed to bait and trap Black Bears so that tourist hunters get an easy shot. Some hunters probably pretend they are military trained snipers.

That’s the equivalent to destroying one house in, [pick whatever country], with an entire squadron of bombers, Or sending your children to college. And it ALL sickens me.

  6. Today is an anniversary for me. Oct 7, 2004 was my Sentencing in Court.  I was told to have my affairs in order and to be prepared to go to prison.  Here is a link to the words I spoke to the Judge.

  8. Thanks, Frances. Nice video. The media cat’s out of the bag. Anyone heard responses from overseas? (Even though it’s us echoing them, finally.)

The Seattle OWS is back, but they simply must move from the traditional/hackneyed location, Westlake Plaza, which is neither large enough or the right setting for this sort of protest. There are many other options, but some of the ritzy suburbs are good candidates - Bellevue, Mercer Island, or Medina could do with some working class disruption.

    Official Collective Statement :

As we gather together in solidarity to express a feeling of mass injustice, we must not lose sight of what brought us together. We write so that all people who feel wronged by the corporate forces of the world can know that we are your allies.

As one people, united, we acknowledge the reality: that the future of the human race requires the cooperation of its members; that our system must protect our rights, and upon corruption of that system, it is up to the individuals to protect their own rights, and those of their neighbors; that a democratic government derives its just power from the people, but corporations do not seek consent to extract wealth from the people and the Earth; and that no true democracy is attainable when the process is determined by economic power. We come to you at a time when corporations, which place profit over people, self-interest over justice, and oppression over equality, run our governments. We have peaceably assembled here, as is our right, to let these facts be known.

They have taken our houses through an illegal foreclosure process, despite not having the original mortgage.
They have taken bailouts from taxpayers with impunity, and continue to give Executives exorbitant bonuses.
They have perpetuated inequality and discrimination in the workplace based on age, the color of one’s skin, sex, gender identity and sexual orientation.
They have poisoned the food supply through negligence, and undermined the farming system through monopolization.

They have profited off of the torture, confinement, and cruel treatment of countless animals, and actively hide these practices.
They have continuously sought to strip employees of the right to negotiate for better pay and safer working conditions.
They have held students hostage with tens of thousands of dollars of debt on education, which is itself a human right.
They have consistently outsourced labor and used that outsourcing as leverage to cut workers’ healthcare and pay.
They have influenced the courts to achieve the same rights as people, with none of the culpability or responsibility.
They have spent millions of dollars on legal teams that look for ways to get them out of contracts in regards to health insurance.
They have sold our privacy as a commodity.
They have used the military and police force to prevent freedom of the press.
They have deliberately declined to recall faulty products endangering lives in pursuit of profit.
They determine economic policy, despite the catastrophic failures their policies have produced and continue to produce.
They have donated large sums of money to politicians, who are responsible for regulating them.
They continue to block alternate forms of energy to keep us dependent on oil.
They continue to block generic forms of medicine that could save people’s lives or provide relief in order to protect investments that have already turned a substantial profit.
They have purposely covered up oil spills, accidents, faulty bookkeeping, and inactive ingredients in pursuit of profit.

They purposefully keep people misinformed and fearful through their control of the media.
They have accepted private contracts to murder prisoners even when presented with serious doubts about their guilt.
They have perpetuated colonialism at home and abroad.
They have participated in the torture and murder of innocent civilians overseas.
They continue to create weapons of mass destruction in order to receive government contracts.

To the people of the world,

We, the New York City General Assembly occupying Wall Street in Liberty Square, urge you to assert your power.

Exercise your right to peaceably assemble; occupy public space; create a process to address the problems we face, and generate solutions accessible to everyone.

To all communities that take action and form groups in the spirit of direct democracy, we offer support, documentation, and all of the resources at our disposal.

Join us and make your voices heard!

  12. Hmm..the Richest 1% don’t seem to like Democracy...I wonder why?

It’s like the School Bully going for a popularity contest, sure with all that lunch money he can fund a glitzy campaign but…

I’m going to a talk on Latin America today by Chomsky, I’ll let you know what he says about OSW.

  13. I don’t know who Bill Bennett is but he just said this and I liked it…

Bill Bennett: If you voted for Obama to prove you’re not a racist, you now need to vote against him to prove you’re not an idiot

  15. Guns and God...,both a product of humans.

In georgia, there’s a court case over allowing people to carry guns in church.

The judge wondered if there is a passage in the bible about guns in church. From the state that brought us the murder of Troy Davis, another example of absolute stupidity in the insane society.

  16. #13: Michael, that was former drug-czar-with-a-cigarette-habit and moral-paragon-with-a-massive-gambling-problem Bill Bennett.

The fascist punditry are like toy dogs guessing what pitch of barking will get master to throw them a treat, but sometimes the guy with the leash tries one out: Mayor Bloomberg said that OWS is threatening municipal jobs in NYC. That’s when nearby dogs cock their ears, “?”

They’re getting desperate and it’s about time.

  17. Joe...Oct 23/24 Brian Wilson is scheduled for Portland.  Everybody know who he is???  He’s a great anti war activist - was run over by a train - lost his legs while protesting. He’s a real hero.

captcha says “spring” - keep the protest going through many Springs…
